samurai
Honourable warriors who have honed their skills in the service of a liege lord, samurai are peerless fighters who wield their blades to dispense justice and protect the innocent. They are loyal to a fault, and use their formidable martial prowess and their considerable mental fortitude to overcome almost any obstacle. The majority of samurai adhere to a strict moral code and the law of the land, but masterless samurai may wander the lands beholden to none but their own conscience.
Strengthen The Mind
To strengthen the mind is as important as strengthening your body.
- Learned Knowledge. You become a novice in one additional skill with the Knowledge trait of your choice.
- Linguistic Fluency. You learn to speak, read and write one additional common or uncommon language of your choice.
Warrior Spirit
As a samurai you learn to hone your senses and focus on the foes before you.
You learn the Focussed Strike combat maneuver, and this maneuver does not count against your total of known maneuvers.
Burei-sute
The laws of your order demand that immediately when offense is taken, a strike must be given.
When you wield a melee weapon and an enemy within reach attacks an ally of yours, you can immediately use your reaction to make a melee attack against the enemy creature.
Unshakable Will
Your resolve is unbreakable, even in the face of overwhelming odds.
When you make a saving throw against being Dazed, Frightened, Charmed, or Stunned, you can choose to increase the degree of success by one step, from critical failure to failure, failure to success, or success to critical success. You can choose to use this ability directly after you know the result of the roll and its effect.
You can use this ability once per short or long rest.
Rapid Strike
You learn to trade accuracy for swift strikes.
If you take the Attack action on your turn, and have advantage on an attack roll against a target, you can forgo the advantage for that roll to make an additional weapon attack against that target, as part of the same action.
You can use this feature once per turn.
Last Stand
Your fighting spirit can delay the grasp of death.
If you take damage that reduces you to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to delay falling Unconscious, and you can immediately take an extra turn. While you have 0 hit points during that extra turn, taking damage causes death saving throw failures as normal; three death saving throw failures cause you to die immediately. When the extra turn ends, you fall Unconscious if you still have 0 hit points.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
