imperator
Imperators don’t swear an oath, instead they claim a mandate. Whether granted by divine right, destiny, conquest, or sheer force of will, they believe they are either meant to rule or serve those who do. Often seen as cruel, they act to maintain order in an unyielding and absolute manner, expecting unquestioning loyalty in return for their leadership.
Many Imperators don’t see authority as inherently cruel, nor do they seek tyranny for the sake of evil. To them, peace, prosperity, and order are not accidents, but rather an imposed gift that is defended and maintained through the iron vice they represent.
Nevertheless, many find common cause within infernal hierarchies, whose rigid structures and merciless doctrines mirror their own. Some bargain with The Hells for authority and legions, becoming an iron vice extended into the world. Whether they serve devils, command them, or merely emulate their example, Imperators often stand as living testaments to tyranny perfected.
Tenets of the Imperator
End Conflict Decisively. When you engage in a struggle, see it through. Leave no lingering uncertainty that invites renewed strife. A challenge unresolved festers; a conclusion made clear prevents further bloodshed. Let your victories establish lasting certainty.
Maintain Clear Authority. Leadership must be visible and consistent. Recognize loyalty and competence, for they reinforce stability. Address defiance in a manner that reaffirms order. Structure endures only when its boundaries are understood.
Strength Above All. Power must be maintained. Hone your might: martial, political, and personal. If challenged, prove your right to rule through undeniable strength. Should you fall, let it be because another has truly surpassed you.
Cultivate Strength. Power, be it martial, political, or personal, must be sharpened and preserved. Test yourself and welcome worthy rivals, for strength proven is strength respected. Should you falter, let it be because another has demonstrated greater command, not because you failed to stand firm.
